Privacy and HIPAA
Warbritton & Associates is committed to professionalism and exceptional service and security for our clients, associates and case professional. Be assured that we’ll treat your personal information with utmost privacy and security. We’ll only use your information to provide authorized service and we’ll take every reasonable precaution to ensure your information is protected, private and inaccessible to everyone except your service provider(s). To protect your information:
1. We treat your privacy with serious consideration and concern.
We collect only the information essential for opening and managing your case. All the client information we collect is used in managing you case, direct communication and setting up appointments. If at any time you should find your information is in any way inaccurate, contact our office. To assure that your information is protected, we only allow authorized personnel direct access to editing case information.
2. We separate long term data storage from our primary web site.
We provide a variety of methods for collecting client information including a web-based Intake Form (we also accept fax, delivered hard copy and phone calls.) We also provide an online email page for direct communication. None of these online resources is connected to a long-term storage system. They simply generate digital forms that go directly to office professionals who enter the data directly into long term, permanent storage that is not connected to the web site. This prevents the main website from being a potential mean of security breach.
3. Long term information is stored safely under strictest security.
All long term patient/associate information is stored on secured servers unavailable to public access. Your data lives behind multiple layers of digital protection. Warbritton & Associates employs IT professionals to make certain that the client information is managed in ways that meets or exceeds industry standards.
Even though Warbritton & Associates provides only medical-legal reports for the Workers’ Compensation Insurance System and is not a treating health facility, and is therefore exempted from the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA, Title II) we go to the extra consideration of following HIPAA guidelines regarding the privacy of your health information. 4. We use all information we collect to serve our clients.
As such, we’ll never sell client information, provide it to a third parties without appropriate legal justification or use client information in any way that is less than professional and respectful. On that you can be certain.
