Three new physicians have joined Warbritton & Associates recently:
Kara L. Winter, Ph.D. was born and raised on a registered Guernsey dairy farm near Eugene, Oregon. She attended the University of Oregon where she received her B.S. in political science. Kara completed her undergraduate degree while serving as a Congressional intern in Washington, D.C. After completing her Bachelor’s of Science degree she lived in Washington, D.C. for two years and eventually moved to New York City where she earned her Masters in Social Work from New York University. Kara returned to graduate school after working one year in Manhattan with chronically mentally ill adults and six years in a day treatment facility with severely emotionally disturbed children and their families in San Francisco. Kara earned her doctorate in psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. Since then she has devoted much time to working with individuals diagnosed with chronic and terminal illness. She will be seeing patients for us in Oakland, Fairfield and Sacramento.
James B. Shaw, M.D. who specializes in interventional pain management and evaluates &treats all types of pain. Dr. Shaw will see patients in Hayward and Santa Rosa.
Joining him in Pain Management is Ernest Cheng, D.O., who will see patients in Hayward, Oakland and Pleasanton. Dr. Cheng holds board certifications from the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a subspecialty certification in sports medicine; the American Board of Pain Medicine; and the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. In addition, he is trained in Interventional Pain Management and Sports Medicine and Electrodiagnosis (EMG/NCV), and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Sports Performance Coach. In his treatment practice, he specializes in the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of painful musculoskeletal and spinal disorders.
